Overview
Participate Energy utilizes federal commercial incentives to lower the customer’s upfront payment, allowing homeowners to benefit from the 30% federal incentive, captured as an upfront reduction to the customer’s lease payment, with the balance of the cost being paid by Participate Energy as system owner.
Participate preserves the full 30 percent ITC value on the customer's behalf through their lease factor, requires no credit check, and offers a freely transferable agreement upon home sale. Supported by leading solar lending partners, customers have the option to assume ownership beginning in year six at low or no cost.
Participate portion is paid at Final Inspection passed.
FAQ
Can my customer pay for the pre-paid lease with cash?
Yes. Your customer may pay for their Participate system with cash. Make sure to select the “Participate Pre-paid - Cash” agreement on Jobflo Desgin. Read more about cash payments here: Cash.
Can my customer pay for the pre-paid lease with a loan?
Yes. The current financier compatible with the Participate product is Credit Human. Click on the link to see more details about the loan. Make sure to select the “Participate Pre-paid - Loan” agreement on Jobflo Desgin.
Does my customer need to show first year savings?
Yes. Customers need to show a first year savings on the solar side of the product but not on the battery side.
Are manufactured homes eligible?
No. Manufactured homes are not eligible, even if on permanent foundation. Excluded structures: single wide, double wide, Hud plates, etc.
Will my customer have any tax benefit from this product?
No. The system will be owned by Participate.
What adders are allowed?
- MPU
- Partial re-roof (only the plane on which the solar is going)
- Solar Insure (Battery only, and Solar + Battery)
What is the offset maximum?
125%.
Can I use this offering for battery only?
Yes! Participate allows battery only systems.
How should I talk about the Participate pricing?
The 100% amount is the “Replacement Cost of the System.” The 70% value is the “Net Amount Due” or the “Baseline Lease Amount.”
Can I do non-export add-ons with Participate in CA?
Yes! The fixed $675 non-export adder will apply.
Can I switch over existing accounts to this product pre-install?
Yes. If the account is pre-install you may follow this process to switch to Participate:
- Go to proposals under customer's existing Jobflo profile.
- Hit “New Proposal.”
- Select “Jobflo Design.”
- With the appropriate Participate equipment (As listed at the bottom of this page), match the existing designed layout as close as possible.
- Apply Participate discount in the adders section.
- Sign new Participate Prepaid Agreement.
- If it was already a Credit Human account, call them at 800-292-5235 Opt. 4 and request extension and new loan principle that matches the 70% on Participate agreement.
- Complete Credit Human documents with the customer.
- Make sure the new Participate agreement is uploaded to the Jobflo files (this should happen automatically).
- Tag @NTP in the notes and say "@NTP This has been resigned with Participate and Credit Human."
